WELCOME TO WASCOTT

Woods, Water and Wildlife is the only way to describe The Town of Wascott.  According to legend, our community was named after W.A. Scott, a telegraph operator.  This was back in 1910.  Today we are a small town with lots to offer.

The Wascott Town Hall: www.townofwascott.org - is here to serve you Monday-Thursday from 7:30-Noon.  Our clerk/treasurer will help you with permits, voter registration and answer many other questions.  The town board meets the 1st Tuesday of every month

The Wascott Historical Park is across the street from the town hall.  The Hoffman School and the Wascott Community Church are over 100 years old and can be seen by contacting the town clerk/treasurer.  A small picnic/playground area is available as well.  Come and take a look "back in time".

Community Information is available at www.townofwascott.org

The Wascott Kreide Cemetery and Veterans Memorial is located about 1 mile west of Hwy 53 on Cemetery Road

You will find the Gordon-Wascott Transfer Station in Gordon - 715-376-2315

We are fortunate to have hard-working and dedicated emergency personnel and services.  The Wascott Fire Department - located on the corner of Hwy "T" and Apple Lake Road - has an open house each June.  The Gordon/Wascott EMS is on Hwy 53 in Gordon.  Its open house is held in August.  These are volunteer groups who welcome new members.

The Wascott Community Club/Fire Department Auxiliary is a wonderful and caring group of about 30 women who meet on the 1st Monday of each month.  We take pride in keeping our lending library neat and well stocked with reading material.  Our town hall, with its efficient kitchen, is our pride and joy.  You may want to rent it for an event.  We are avid supporters of our area food shelves, for which we have a fund raiser, Friday Fun Day in June.

The Wascott Four Season's Recreational Club - www.4seasonsrec.org - maintains our ATV and Snowmobile trails which connect to hundreds of miles of additional trails.  In addition, they sponsor a huge community event on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend - Food and Fun where hundreds of people gather for an afternoon of socializing.  This is held at the Wascott Ball Park on Crystal Lake Road.  New members are always welcome.

"Downtown Wascott" - The Stop a Sec Convenience Store - located on the corner of Hwy "T" and Crystal Lake Road - is where you can get a post office box, gas, bait, licenses, hardware, beer and liquor, grocery items, propane and you can even do your laundry.   On each Memorial Day Saturday, there is a Flea Market in the parking lot.  Come and set up a table.

Also, we have a can recycle building at the Stop a Sec Store. Proceeds are donated to the Northwood School Senior Scholarships, winter clothing, school supplies, Backpack Program, and many other needs that the school has throughout the year.

The Wascott Area Children's Christmas Party is held on Christmas Eve from noon to 2:00pm at the Town Hall.  It is open to ALL children in the area.  There are gifts, prizes, treats and Mr. and Mrs. Santa.  Pack up the family and join us.

Our children attend the Northwood School in Minong.  Septemberfest is an annual event which raises money to provide opportunities for the students.

Drive around our beautiful community, down its 200 miles of road, around the numerous lakes, along our rivers and through our beautiful forests.  You will be inspired by the Woods, Water and Wildlife.  But, our most important resource is our people who eagerly welcome new residents.  Make yourself at home.

WASCOTT - IT IS A WAY OF LIFE!
